![]() You should know that Alien Isolation is kinda unconfortable to play tho. ![]() You can also use "Oculus Switch" which allows you to switch from the SDK installed to SDK 0.5 whenever you want even on Windows 10 so you can play games and demos that uses extended mode. I cant remember exactly what I did but wasnt anything too special. Originally posted by Kitsune Shan:I got a DK2 recently and I can tell you that Alien Isolation does works perfectly with it. Better to be pleasantly surprised than disappointed. ![]() it's far from impossible, but don't get your hopes up. The developers haven't commented on the subject at all, and I imagine they've been asked frequently. It also almost certainly won't support any form of full-body tracking, which is Vive's most prominent feature. It's on the extreme far end of "advanced" VR, the sort of thing you'd want to try once you've got your "VR legs" and your brain's gotten used to things like the world moving around you without the natural sensation of movement - probably something that would take anywhere from days to months to develop, depending on how prone you already are to things like seasickness, carsickness, dizzyness, etc. If Valve asks very nicely and send them a check they might be willing, but I'm not sure Valve would want Alien to serve as an example of VR gaming in the first place. If/when Vive comes out, it will almost certainly not be able to work natively with the Oculus SDK (assuming they DID update the game's Oculus support), which means the developer would need to do a second update to the game, for free again, for a tiny minority of users, all likely without payment or authorization from the game's publisher, Sega. Its current implementation uses an old, unsupported, unreliable, and not user-friendly version of the Oculus SDK that will no longer work once you've updated your Oculus software to a newer version. The game has had (hidden) built-in VR support from day one, but it would need to have an updated version of the SDK integrated by the game's developer in order for Oculus support to work. ![]()
